The Picpus district is the 46th administrative district of Paris. It is located in the 12th arrondissement and is bordered in particular by the Bercy district, the Bastille district and the Bel-Air district. Due to the dynamism, green spaces, schools and historical monuments with which it is surrounded, the Picpus district has a certain charm, especially if you want to have a pleasant stay. Here are a few reasons that make the Picpus district an ideal choice for a stay.
The Picpus district is bordered by the Bastille district which has many historical sites.
One of the advantages of the Picpus district is its proximity to the Bastille district. The Bastille district offers a wide range of activities that will allow you to relax, have fun and discover Parisian culture. This district is quite rich in monuments and historical sites, in particular the Place de la Bastille. This square which once was a fortress built in 1369 is full of quite an interesting history.
In addition to the Place de la Bastille, you also have the possibility of visiting many other places during your afternoon, in particular the Place des Vosges. This square is renowned for the beauty of the architecture of the buildings that surround it and its green space which represents a space for relaxation. The theater of the bastille always offers you original and unpublished plays.
In terms of historical visits, you will have a wide choice, notably between Victor Hugo’s house, the port garden which welcomes hundreds of tourists, the green belt and the Bastille opera house. This opera opened in 1989 has an impressive and magnificent architecture.
The 11th arrondissement, which is very close to the Picpus district, presents an ideal festive setting
The 11th arrondissement, in particular the Bastille district, offers you many possibilities for chilling. These include the Moonshiner, an unusual place that perfectly represents the interior of American clandestine bars of the 20s. In this bar, all the decor is designed to remind you of this vintage period. In addition to the Moonshiner, you can take a trip to the Pachi Pacha Minibar or the Mojito Lab to enjoy unusual cocktails made by professionals.
For a more festive atmosphere, you can opt for rue de Lappe, which is not a bar, but rather a street with a total of 42 bars. So if you want to enjoy the festive atmosphere of Paris, rue de Lappe is the ideal place. These 42 bars each have different specialties and absolutely everything is thought out to make you live a pleasant moment of relaxation. This is particularly the case of Havanita, a Cuban-inspired bar renowned for its explosive atmosphere and exotic drinks.
Finally, the Picpus district is an ideal destination for a relaxing, discovery and chill stay. Indeed, the district is bordered by the Bastille district which has many tourist sites for an afternoon of discovery and relaxation and many bars and exotic nightclubs for a chill evening. On the other hand, if you want to enjoy the calm and the beauty of the green spaces, the district is just near the Bois de Vincennes.
